Aix-les-Bains combines smooth living with dynamism, gastronomy and culture, as well as well-being and relaxation, all in an exceptional natural environment.

Urban & thermal city life

Aix-les-Bains is today the fourth largest thermal city in France. Two thermal establishments - Les Thermes Chavalley and Les Thermes de Marlioz - have a dual thermal focus (ENT and rheumatology).

The Thermal Spa at Les Thermes Chavalley offers modern day equipment which goes above and beyond normal thermal water treatment, with three balneotherapy centres allowing visitors to enjoy fresh water therapies: Adelphia, Domaine de Marlioz, Villa Marlioz.

There are also many spas and institutes dedicated to well-being, relaxation and fitness.

A rich history

From its history revolving around water therapies and its prestigious thermal baths which were frequented in the 19th Century by the European aristocracy, Aix-les-Bains has inherited a rich architectural heritage.

Luxury hotels, homes and villas can all be admired from various angles: Le Grand-hôtel, in its neoclassical style, the Roche du Roi castle, which is a listed historical monument, the Bernascon residence and its Neo-Louis XIII style, le Mirabeau, the Royal, the Excelsior, the Splendide, are all fine examples of the exquisite architecture of the thermal city.

Water sports resort

Having been awarded the Label of a Water Sports Resort in France, Aix-les-Bains offers a wide range of water sports: sailing, catamaran, traditional boating, cruises, canoe and kayaking, rowing, water skiing, wake-boarding, or kite-surfing, diving, and swimming are all available in total safety.
